Coffee Grog

Enjoy this warm, spiced coffee drink in fall or winter while sitting in front of a fire.

    1        tablespoon butter, softened
    1/3     cup brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/8     teaspoon cinnamon
    1/8     teaspoon allspice
    1/8     teaspoon nutmeg
    1/8     teaspoon ground cloves
    4 1/2  cups extra-strong, freshly brewed coffee
    3/4     cup rum
    3/4     cup light cream
    6        twists each of lemon and orange peel

Cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add the spices and blend. Slowly pour in the hot coffee. Then add the rum and the cream. Stir. Serve the grog in pre-warmed mugs; garnish each mug with a twist of lemon peel and a twist of orange peel.
